Musang King
The shape of the Musang King is oval to ellipsoid and the husk have a dusty light green colour. The flesh is thick, golden-yellow that is sweet with a hint of bitterness. It has a soft, smooth custard-like texture and is really creamy. Also known as Mau Shan Wang, the Musang King durian is the most popular variety at present.
D24
The stem of the D24 is shorter compared to other durians and it has a brown-coloured ring around the bottom of the stem. D24 durians are a little less overwhelming in flavour and are known for their creamy texture and subtle bittersweet after-taste. If you’re not that familiar with durians, this is a good introduction to the king of fruits.
Black Thorn
The tips of the thorns of the Black Thorn tend to be darker, thus the name. The flesh of the Black Thorn is bright yellow and creamy and it has a sweet and custardy taste, similar to that of Mao Shan Wang – but not as rich and has a lighter texture. Currently Rising in popularity.
